Ever get tired of typing on your BlackBerry after several hours and would like the comfort of being able to type as if you were on your laptop? REDFLY has to come to the rescue in this case. Everything that you perform on your BlackBerry device can now be done with REDFLY BlackBerry. RedFly will support the  BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900, 8300 Curve and the 9630 Tour (BlackBerry devices with 512 MHz processor, 128 megs of memory, and OS 4.6 or higher) . It’s a simple install and plug and play solution with little or no effort of becoming a tech for 10 minutes to get everything setup.  It currently supports both USB and Bluetooth connections. Working on your BlackBerry has just gotten easier for typing long messages and work on spreadsheets. For those of you wanting to see REDFLY in action, don’t forget to check out the video below.

Cons and Pros of this solution: The Pros are somewhat great for heavy BlackBerry users however the NetFly solution will not have a harddrive or operating system.  (more…)

Google Latitude

Posted on 4th February 2009 under BlackBerry Applications, BlackBerry Reviews, Cool BlackBerry Tools by olyvine

I’ve just upgraded my Pearl’s Google Maps, to try out Google Latitude. The “add friends” feature has not been thought for people willing to add more than 20 contacts.
But then as a second thought one might not wish to share their location with that many people.

Then again, the little “privacy” tab allows you to hide your location from everyone. One can make their location visible to only a selection of contacts and“un-share”the location or set it manually.
To enable Latitude a Google Account is required. You can manage access and privacy settings directly on your BlackBerry or from a computer – it’s just as easy.

Can’t wait to see this in action on a Saturday when heading out into town.

BlackBerry (RIM) is on a roll this year without  a shadow of a doubt!  With some of the slickest mobile devices and mobile applications on the market, RIM should be very proud of themselves and owe a pat on the back to   BlackBerry Developers out there.  BlackBerry Developers are really putting their foot down this year and are getting less rest at night and putting more productivity back into the hands of BlackBerry users.  HipVoice is doing just this and they are not playing and we think they will take the BlackBerry market by storm with this nifty push talk service application. The video speaks for itself and we think this application just might make the TOP 10 BlackBerry application list for 2009.  BlackBerry Chick’s keeping in contact your friends is about to get easier and it’s just a matter of time. I know Susan here at BlackBerryChick.com can’t wait to get our hands on this application especially since  a little birdy told me she got her new BlackBerry Storm today.  SHhhhhhh  don’t tell her we told you.  Let’s act surprised when she posts the information :)

Sprint and Nextel users aren’t the only BlackBerry Users that will have the push talk feature - THANKS HIPVOICE!

Here are of the features of this service

UNICAST: Push-To-Talk one to one
MULTICAST: Push-To-Talk one to many (Also to Walkie Talkies)
CHANNEL: Push-To-Talk to anyone subscribed to the channel
RICH MESSAGING: Text message users that are on or off-line

Can everyone join me in saying, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!  That’s what we said when we first saw the video.  We will report more once we receive more juicy news about this service.  BlackBerry Developers keep the applications coming - We love them!

Wikipedia Mobile!

Us women can sometimes be information junkies, (well, I know I am a super info geek) So you’ll be glad to hear wikipedia now has a mobile friendly site! I think it has been around for maybe a couple months now, but we have just discovered it thanks to Crackberry. Point your mobile browser to http://mobile.wikipedia.org and get in the know!
