I Don’t Have An Option To Sync With Outlook 2003?!?!?!

This is a question that we are hearing more and more with the new Desktop Managers which are coming on the CD included with new BlackBerry devices.
If you happen to have loaded Desktop Manager on your computer recently then have gone in to set up your sync preferences, but notice that Outlook isn’t an option, you know exactly what we are talking about…
Here is the fix…
For some unknown reason, the new versions of Desktop Manager will NOT sync with Outlook 2003 (according to a few RIM reps, this is because “not many people use Outlook 2003 anymore, so we aren’t supporting it in new Desktop Manager builds” And that folks, is a DIRECT quote). But oh, are they wrong. Millions of people still use Outlook 2003…If it’s not broke, don’t fix (pay to upgrade to 2007) right?
1. You will need to download the USB Drivers for Desktop Software 4.7. You MUST install these drivers BEFORE installing Desktop Manager…If you install Desktop Manager first…You will notice that after you install the drivers, Desktop Manager will have magically disappeared from your computer.
Click Here For The Drivers: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
In the drop down box, choose “USB And Modem Drivers” towards the top of the list…On the next page, the 2nd from the bottom (ENG) is English…Download and install those…
2. You now need to install Desktop Manager…Using the same link above, in the drop down box choose “BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 Service Pack 2”
On the next page, choose whether you want the media manager or not (Note: If you had a previous version of Desktop Manager installed that had Roxio, you can download the package WITHOUT the media manager, as it will still be on your computer).
Once you are finished with the download, install Desktop Manager (AGAIN…Note that the USB Drivers MUST be installed BEFORE installing Desktop Manager!)
When finished installing, open up Desktop Manager, go to setup your sync options, and Microsoft Outlook will have magically appeared!
Happy Berrying!
